the dreams you chase died before you were born

think back against your will to the times you almost died

loving only your shadow because that's all you are and all you'll ever be

innocence is in the eye of the beholder

the marks you made when you were too naive to know they'd stay forever

the terrible things you would do to get yourself back

in your dreams you have many friends and everyone loves you

all you want has been wanted before

the way there

it's no use holding your breath

i ran away hoping you'd come find me but i came back because you'd have just let me rot

the tide rose while you were gone

under the house

where the beach ends

the neighbors are already gone

this is not a place to lay down your head

back on land

ignore those who once slept above you

linger at the door

the front row seat

enter the family room

have dinner with us

inhale through your nose

exhale through your mouth
